Before Jimmy was pulling pies out of the oven, he wore the stripes. For 35 years he was a professional wrestling referee, the man in the middle who kept the match honest while the crowd roared. He started with the IWA, then worked Georgia Championship Wrestling, the NWA, and Rampage Pro Wrestling. He refereed house shows for the WWF along the way, and his last tenure was back with Rampage. He knows what it means to show up, give people a fair shake, and earn your reputation one night at a time.
Wrestling was only one chapter. Jimmy has also been a scuba instructor, a licensed boat captain, and an airplane pilot, the kind of guy who never met a skill he didn't want to master himself. That same self-reliance runs in the family. In 1970 the Barnes family started the cable TV system right here in Fort Valley, Georgia, and ran it until they sold it in 2010. Building something local and doing it right has always been the family way.
